Hello there, I'm from the "Boo one Bad, other good" front :D Again, I don't think Chrono Cross is a "bad" game, you don't have to hate me for it. I wanted a place to share it and I think here is very appropriate here. Chrono Cross is the only Chrono Trigger's mistake.Īnyway. It's just not something that makes me feel like I'm playing Chrono Trigger's sequel.Īgain, Chrono Cross would be a much better game if it were an independent game. Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting experience. But from the second disc, it's like the game tries to be Serial Experiments Lain. This is already noticeable from the beginning when the characters no longer have the Toriyama-style. I won't give Spoilers but those who watched know what I'm talking about.Īnd finally the point that Chrono Cross often sounds very different from Chrono Trigger. This situation reminds me a lot of the character Rosé Thomas from Full Metal Alchemist, where the character's role in the manga/Brotherhood differs radically from her role of suffering in the original anime when it distanced from the manga. Why? Isn't she supposed to be the person that Crono almost died to protect in Ocean Palace? Weird choices from the developers. Even my worst enemies, I wouldn't want them to suffer for millennia. be cruelly absorbed by Lavos and to live for millennia being bombarded by evil thoughts. ![]() Why not make her live hell life? You know. It's enough to close the character's story.īut no. But since her pendant was passed down to Marle's royal family it's easy to assume that she simply survived the incident, probably teleporting herself before the Palace collapse. Yeah, she disappeared in Ocean Palace Incident and that was one of Chrono Trigger's mysteries. that secondary (but important) character from Chrono Trigger who didn't need to suffer more than she already did after losing an entire kingdom. are still the ones who stopped the apocalypse, but it doesn't change the fact the whole Chrono Trigger odyssey is about destroying Lavos.Īnother thing that I found totally unnecessary was the Schala's role. Crono isn't the hero who destroyed Lavos anymore, but Serge and that's frustrating. A new story that takes place in the same world.įrom the moment you continue the story and say that Lavos survived and that Serge is the last hope to destroy the world-eater, Crono's party's achievements become less than they should be. But it would make more sense if that sequel was more independent without compromising the events of the previous game. I love Chrono Trigger and although I believe the story could end there, isn't exactly a problem that there's a sequel. It's logical that many here must be fans of Chrono Cross and I even see it as a good game in itself, the problem is precisely the fact that game is a sequel to Chrono Trigger. ![]() The truth is that I opened up this topic to share my feelings than anything.
