Who might have been hoarding copies of Breaking History? 1 ranking on the hardcover nonfiction list was slightly marred by a dagger symbol, indicating that some booksellers had reported bulk orders: Three other top-15 entries that week were also marked with a dagger. Unsurprisingly, she did not point out that its No. 1 Times best seller, as his wife, Ivanka Trump, proclaimed in her last Truth Social post on September 1. Trump’s term in office.”īut could Breaking History be yet another example of Kushner’s “ hidden genius”? Maybe it was never meant to be a memoir normal people read to gain insight into historical events but was instead a cleverly disguised Trump money-making scheme. The New York Times Book Review memorably excoriated it, saying, “ Breaking History is an earnest and soulless - Kushner looks like a mannequin, and he writes like one - and peculiarly selective appraisal of Donald J. My point is who is this sort of thing for? Why do some people want their female character to be ugly and less of a woman? It doesn't prove any point of women being more than sex objects, it just strips them of anything that sets them apart from men.Jared Kushner’s memoir of his time serving in his father-in-law’s administration, Breaking History, succeeded as an exercise in spreading nasty rumors about his enemies, but not so much as a literary work. Mary Jane is a bit "meh", but I agree I don't have much problems with that. But in the second game the purposefully made her less feminine because it is seen as something a women shouldn't or isn't allowed to be for some reason. In the first game, she was a badass hunter and rocked her femineity alongside that badassery. If I ask you what would be changed if she was a man, the answer would be very little.Īloy is another good example. Why is that defended? It's should be legitimately impossible in both setting and tone. ![]() ![]() You pointed out that their in a zombie apocalypse, but she's stronger and more build than the men around her. Be at least a shadow of something that could be soft and beautiful instead of avoiding it all together.Ībby is a great example of that. That doesn't mean "sexy", It means having feminize features. ![]() My question was why is femininity and physical appeal demonized? No one said Ellies needed super model good looks, we said she should look like a woman. I understand your viewpoint and I'm saying developers can't make game characters the way that they want. Woman don’t exist as a monolith nor does looking attractive.Īlso I’m pretty sure I read somewhere saying that those robot are meant to be a criticism of women being sex objects ![]() If Neil druckmann want to make a obese woman the main character of TLoU3 i say go for it and same for someone who want to make a sexy character (but at least make them more than just eye candy). I’m personally of the belief that developers should be allow to make whatever character they want to make. Well let me ask you this, why is it such a bad thing for game developers to design women characters in the way they want to design them? Why is it bad that Ellie doesn’t have super model good looks? She’s in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, why would she care about looking sexy during it? For all of the complaining I have seen about woman characters looking too sexy, I have seen far more complaining about Abby having muscles, Aloy being sunburn and having a round face, Selene being an older woman, and Im going to be frank but I don’t see the issue with Mary Jane, she seem conventionally attractive to me.
